Has your comfort zone been getting a little uncomfortable lately? Have you had moments when you thought that maybe there was more to life than what you are ‘settling’ for?
Do you:
- Stay in a job you no longer like?
- Stay in a relationship/s that doesn’t feel good?
- Play small when you are thinking big?
- Keep quiet when you want to speak up?
Did any of those statements make you squirm a little? That’s great, if they did, because that is a sure sign that your comfort zone is beginning to feel like a tight pair of jeans. You love ’em but you have to let them go!
When we mentally move beyond our comfort zone and don’t follow it with action steps then all kinds of consequences can occur. Physical, mental, spiritual. We become totally out of alignment and that never feels very good on any level.
The only real choices you have are 1) To move forward or 2) To stay the same. And that, dear reader, is almost impossible. If we don’t change by choice we will almost definitely change by circumstance.
Once again, it comes down to choice and it’s your choice, no-one else’s. By the way if you have been in a comfort zone for a long time you may notice now that when you attempt to make a change your gremlins really kick up a storm.
They are more than happy to stay right where they are, thank you. It takes courage to evict them – better to employ them elsewhere, give them something else to focus on and move forward whilst they are otherwise engaged. Give them something to do or send them into the garden for some tea and cakes.
It’s called a comfort zone for a reason and yes, it’s a tad uncomfortable to move out of it unless you change your mindset.
So,
Just how comfortable are you really?
What will you do about that?
