Whether we realize it or not, we were all born with a money legacy and this has shaped how we think and ‘do’ money in our everyday lives.
If you are the type of person who is always scrambling to meet money deadlines then take a moment and ask yourself who you might have inherited this from. If you haven’t got a care in the world and money ‘looks after itself’, do the same – who would have instilled those beliefs into your ‘hard drive’ when you were a child?
If you have children yourself, what kind of money legacy will you be leaving them? It is so easy to get caught up in everyday activities until one day the wolves are at the door and we are forced to think about our money ‘patterns’ and habits and this can often be a shock to the system and can leave us feeling rather fragile.
Take some time over the next few days and track your money habits, daily spending and money attitudes. You may surprise yourself. Do you act differently when things are going well to when things are a bit ‘tight’. Do you react to circumstances or create your own? Are YOU in control?
